Islamabad (July 18, 2018): All wings of the Election Commission of Pakistan are continuing preparations for upcoming general election.
This was briefed during a meeting of the ECP chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan in Islamabad today.
It was informed that printing of ballot papers has entered the final phase; however, the process has been halted for eighty-five constituencies of national and provincial assemblies due to cases pending in various high courts.
The commission expressed its satisfaction over preparations made so far. 
Meanwhile, In Punjab, preparation is being finalized to hold forthcoming general elections in a fair and transparent manner.
Over 48000 polling stations have been setup across the province where over two lac police personnel and police volunteers will be deployed for security purposes.
Punjab has 60.67 million registered voters, out of which 33.68 million are male and 26.99 million are female.
