Islamabad: President Dr Muhammad Arif Alvi on Wednesday approved appointment of Justice Qazi Faiz Essa as the Chief Justice of Pakistan after retirement current Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal.
Justice Qazi Faiz will become Chief Justice of Pakistan on September 17, 2023 after retirement of Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal.
The new appointed CJ will take oath of his office of September 17, 2023.
President has given approval of new Chief Justice of Pakistan under article 175 A (3) of the constitution. Existing CJ Umar Atta Bandiyal under article 179 of the constitution will get age of retirement on September 16, 2023.
President Dr Arif Alvi will take oath of Chief Justice of Pakistan from Justice Qazi Faez Isa on September 17, 2023.
