ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of World Environment Day, President Asif Ali Zardari issued a message emphasizing the importance of safeguarding planet.
President Asif Ali Zardari said, Global day reminds us of our responsibility to protect the Earth and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. He highlighted that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change.
President Zardari acknowledged that, recent floods, droughts, and heatwaves have impacted millions of people. He also emphasized that Pakistan’s contribution to global carbon emissions is less than 1%. Despite limited resources, Pakistan is taking various measures to address environmental challenges.
He urged every individual to take actions in their daily lives that positively impact the environment, such as reducing plastic use, protecting forests, recycling, and adopting environmental protection policies.
The President called on every citizen and institution to work together for a clean and green Pakistan and to unite in tackling climate change, conserving biodiversity, and responsibly utilizing natural resources.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment that its future is intertwined with environmental conservation, and that collective efforts are essential to safeguard it.
