Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi started considering to announce the general election date, sources said.
Federal Minister of Law Ahmed Irfan called on the President for consultations on upcoming general elections, sources added.
Sources furthered that the President, who is belonged to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), can announce the election date at any time.
On the other hand, the ministry of law has a point of view that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has an authority to announce the general election date in the country.
Sources apprised that the ECP has also prepared a strategy for responding the President decision. The ECP will reject the general election date if the President announces the holding of the general election date.
