Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have said that Pakistan Air Force has always played a crucial role in defending Pakistan’s airspace and maintaining national sovereignty.
In his message on the observance of Pakistan Air Force Day, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force for their display of valour and sacrifices during the 1965 war.
He said the day was not only about remembering the victories of the past but also about honouring the living spirit of service and devotion that defined the Pakistan Air Force.
The President said today, as we mark Air Force Day, my heart goes out in deep respect to our martyrs and ghazis whose courage and sacrifices continue to inspire the nation.
He said in 1965 war their air warriors, against overwhelming odds, wrote a story of extraordinary bravery and determination.
The President said that weather it was the 1965 war or the more recent Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-um-Marsoos, their air warriors had always risen to the challenge, giving the enemy a decisive response and filling the nation with pride, he added.
He further said that the world witnessed the remarkable skill and professionalism of the PAF, and he firmly believed its modern capabilities were one of the strongest guarantees of Pakistan’s security.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressing his confidence said the Pakistan Air Force would continue to protect their skies and sovereignty with the same resolve and passion that had always defined it.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded Pakistan Air Force for showing professionalism and immense strength in last decades during air combats.
He said the Pakistan Air Force, together with the armed forces, played a decisive role in Marka-e-Haq.
The Prime Minister said the purpose of celebrating this day is to remind the coming generations of the dedication, determination and bravery of our air force to protect the nation.
