President, PM pay heartfelt tribute to Syed Ali Gilani

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid heartfelt tribute to All Parties Hurriyat Conference founding leader Syed Ali Gilani on his fourth martyrdom anniversary for his unparalleled struggle for the rights of oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message, the President said Syed Ali Gilani dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the right to self-determination. He said Indian oppression and brutality could not shake his resolve and courage.

He said Pakistan will continue to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people at every international forum. He said Indian tyranny cannot break the spirit of the Kashmiri people.

He said the people of Kashmir must be granted the right to self-determination as per UN resolutions.

In his message, the Prime Minister said Syed Ali Gilani’s eternal love for Pakistan is a matter of pride for us and a symbol of our deep spiritual and emotional bond with the Kashmiri people.

He said Syed Ali Gilani’s slogan: We are Pakistanis. Pakistan is ours” still resonates powerfully on the tongues of Kashmiris and weighs heavily on the hearts and minds of the oppressor.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam has paid glowing tribute to veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani on his fourth martyrdom anniversary being observed on Monday.

In his message, he said Syed Ali Gilani was the heartbeat of the Kashmiri people and a great leader of the Kashmir freedom movement.

Engineer Amir Muqam said despite all the atrocities, Syed Ali Gilani never accepted Indian rule and always stood firm on the principled stand of the right to self-determination. His unparalleled sacrifices and perseverance are still a beacon of light for Kashmiris.

The Minister said the government of Pakistan will continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

He said the slogan of Syed Ali Gilani “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours” is still on the lips of the Kashmiri youth and this same sentiment will defeat the illegal occupation of India.

Engineer Amir Muqam called upon the United Nations and the international community to take notice of the gross human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play their role in ensuring the legitimate rights to the Kashmiri people.
