ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Captain Hamza Akram, who lost his life during a counterterrorism operation in Hangu.
In separate statements, both leaders paid tribute to the martyred officer, praising his courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment to defending the country.
The president and prime minister also commended the security forces for their successful operation, in which seven Khawarij militants were killed.
They reaffirmed the government’s resolve to support the security forces in their ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorism and protect the lives and security of the people.
