ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, the Commander of the UAE Navy.
The award ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, where the President also engaged in discussions with the UAE naval chief and emphasized the strength of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
During the event, President Zardari commended Commander Alremeithi’s exemplary services, underscoring the close brotherly ties between the two nations. He also praised the UAE Navy’s participation in the Aman Dialogue 25 and Aman Exercise 25, reaffirming Pakistan Navy’s readiness to support the UAE Navy’s future manpower requirements.
Commander Alremeithi revealed that he is an alumnus of the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, highlighting the educational ties between the two armed forces.
Senior officials including Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, former National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and ex-Senate Chairman Nayyar Bukhari were also in attendance at the ceremony.
