ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, on a four-day visit to Iraq, paid respects at the holy shrine of Hazrat Ali (RA) in Najaf and offered fateha. He also visited Kufa, prayed at Masjid-e-Kufa, and paid respects at Hazrat Ali’s (RA) attributed house.
President met administrators, scholars, the Najaf Governor, and other officials in Najaf and Kufa. He prayed for peace, unity, and harmony among the Muslim Ummah.
Earlier, he visited shrines in Baghdad, including those of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, Imam Musa Kazim, Imam Muhammad al-Taqi al-Jawad, and Imam Abu Hanifa. Zardari reflected on the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt as a lasting source of wisdom and strength while praying for the Ummah’s peace and security.
