ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government will provide electric rickshaws and loaders to unemployed people to support their employment.
A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviewed the government’s support initiatives for the acquisition of electric bikes, rickshaws, and loaders. During the session, he emphasized that promoting electric vehicles will save billions of dollars in fuel expenses, contribute to environmental protection, and boost the local industry.
The Prime Minister directed that a comprehensive plan be developed to facilitate widespread access to electric vehicles for the general public. He further stated that the federal government, including federal boards, will provide electric bikes to top performers across the country.
Additionally, he instructed that measures be taken to establish a complete ecosystem for the manufacturing and maintenance of electric vehicles, and that the distribution and support processes be validated by third-party audits.
The Prime Minister prioritized giving preference to economically weaker segments of society and called for an awareness campaign to inform the public about the government’s support scheme for acquiring electric vehicles.
