ISLAMABAD: Privatisation Commission (PC) has extended the deadline for submission of Expression of Interest (EoI) by the parties interested in Kot Addu Power Plant’s (Kapco) privatisation for a month.
Sources said that after postponement of the planned Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) privatisation, the government was currently facing problems in privatisation of other public sector enterprises (PSEs). PC officials said that the Commission had invited EoI applications from interested parties to participate in privatisation of 40 percent stakes in Kot Addu Power Plant and had set September 20, 2016 as last date for submission of such application. However, they said that on the request of the interested parties the Commission extended the last date for submission of EoI by October 20, 2016.
Sources said that the government was going to sell 40.2 percent stakes in Kot Addu Power Plant, which it had committed with International Monetary Fund (IMF).
