Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has extended the protective bail of Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizia and Avonfield references till October 26, 2023.Notices issued to NAB.
Chief Justice Aamir Farooq remarked that Nawaz Sharif will have to convince the court of his absence to revive the appeals. Justice Gul Hassan Expressed his surprise on the NAB not opposing the restoration of bail and appeals and asked, “is this the same NAB?” NAB appeared today without notice, they often don’t come even if they give notices.
During the hearing, Lawyer Azam Tarar Requsted that the court hear the request to restore our appeals first. The accountability court withdrew the decision to declare it and warrants also expired. The Chief justice replied that why were he absent from the court? Nawaz Sharif have to justified. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb said that let him make one thing clear to you that you will go according to law. The Lawyer replied that Nawaz Sharif went abroad with the permission of the court, the court said that this matter belonged to Islamabad High Court.
Nawaz Sharif ‘s Lawyer requested for the extension of Nawaz Sharif’s protective bail, which the NAB prosecutor did not oppose and took a clear stand that he did not want to arrest Nawaz Sharif, Justice Mian Gul Hassan said that after 5 year in these cases, if NAB has no objection why doesn’t it take back the case.
