ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League’s 11th edition auction was held in Lahore, drawing widespread excitement among cricket enthusiasts and franchises.
Leading the bidding was Islamabad United, who secured the services of pace sensation Naseem Shah for a staggering 86.5 million PKR. This makes him the highest-paid player in PSL auction history.
Close behind was all-rounder Fahad Ahmed, snapped up by Islamabad United for 85 million PKR, highlighting his rising prominence.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell also drew significant bids, with Islamabad United signing him for 80.5 million PKR.
Peshawar Zalmi made a major addition by purchasing Fakhar Zaman for 79.5 million PKR, while Karachi Kings went for Australian star David Warner at a price of 79 million PKR.
Lahore Qalandars retained Haris Rauf, paying him 76 million PKR for his services. Islamabad United also bought overseas cricketer Mark Chipman for 70 million PKR.
Kicking off their squad, Quetta Gladiators acquired Khawaja Nafees for 65 million PKR. Meanwhile, Karachi Kings spent 58.5 million PKR to bring in Pakistan’s T20 captain Salman Agha.
Sialkot Stallions signed Sahibzada Farhan for 57 million PKR, and Lahore Qalandars added Osama Mir to their roster for 35.5 million PKR.
This auction underlined the immense financial stakes and the high-quality talent pool, reaffirming PSL’s position as one of the leading T20 leagues globally.
