PSX recovers from bearish trend on Thursday

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PAX) has significant recovery on Thursday after days of bearish trend.

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 index gained more than 700 points to reach 112,194.76 points with a positive change of 0.63 percent. 

Later, the day closed at 113,206 points with a gain of 1,719 points. 

The positive activity comes as investors are showing buying interest in sectors such as automobile assemblers, cement, chemicals, commercial banks, and oil and gas exploration firms. 

A day earlier, a US business delegation expressed its interest to invest billions of dollars in Pakistan across various sectors, including minerals, real estate, energy, technology and the artificial intelligence. 

Speaking to media, US billionaire investor Gentry Beach said “President Donald Trump believes in economic diplomacy and that’s why we are visiting Pakistan”. 

Beach said initially they were investing in the critical minerals and the real estate sectors. “We are going to build some of the luxurious properties in Pakistan,” he said. 

On Wednesday, the 100-Index observed a bearish trend, losing 543 more points, a negative change of 0.48 percent, closing at 111,487.36 points. 

A total of 449,244,755 shares were traded during the day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs28.186 billion.
