PTA restores 72 percent mobile networks, announces free calls in flood affected areas

Peshawar: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has restored 72 percent mobile network in the flood hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while it is also providing free calls to the people.

The PTA in the difficult time with the cooperation of the mobile phone operators are standing shoulder to shoulder with the flood affected people of the province.

Telecom consumers have been provided free on-net voice calls on a single network.

Through this initiatives of the PTA it is being ensured that the telecom consumers despite having zero balance they could keep in touch with their families and the emergency services.

A 72 percent affected telecome sites have been restored so far. The PTA with close cooperation of the CMOs are taking every possible measures for restoring remaining affected sites so that the services could be restored with a minimum time.

It is clarified that the PTA recognizing timely efforts of the CMOs regarding providing the services to the customers committed to ensure interrupted connectivity.

The PTA will continue continuous overseeing of the telecom services in the flood affected areas will timely inform the public.
