ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has extended its appreciation to the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) for completing its review of PTCL’s proposed acquisition of Telenor Pakistan.
A company spokesperson acknowledged the Commission’s thorough and constructive evaluation, which reflects a shared commitment to fostering sustainable progress in the telecom sector.
The spokesperson emphasized that PTCL ensured full compliance with the CCP’s process and actively engaged with the Commission throughout the review. He noted that the anticipated merger of PTCL’s mobile arm, Ufone (PTML), with Telenor Pakistan is set to enhance service delivery by offering improved network quality, broader coverage, and more advanced digital offerings for consumers across the country.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the acquisition, the spokesperson stated that this collaboration will contribute to expanding nationwide connectivity, accelerating digital transformation, and strengthening market competition. He further expressed confidence that the integration of the two telecom entities will play a significant role in realizing the Government of Pakistan’s “Digital Pakistan” initiative.
