PTI chief challenges his indictment in cipher case in IHC

Islamabad: Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief on Wednesday challenged his indication in the cipher case in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) saying that the PTI chief was indicted in a haste and declared it illegal.

The PTI chairman has challenged the indictment verdict of the special court established under the secret act at Adyala jail on Monday October 23 by his counsels Salman Safdar and Khalid Yousuf.

Their counsels adopted a view in the petition that the indictment on the PTI chief is a violation of code of criminal procedure 1898 while the it is also violation of article of a/10 and 4 of the constitution.

The petitioner Yousuf Naseem Khokhar and the state have been made respondents.

” A charge could be framed after seven days of issuing copy of the case.” the petition argued.

There is no order from the top court to conduct trial on a daily basis or speedy trial,the petition reads.

The petition further apprised that the court proceedings not forwarded further in the absence of prime evidence of the cipher telegraph.

The petition insisted the court to declare the verdict of the special court of October 23 null and void.
