ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has demanded the government for military deployment in by-elections including ROs, DORs and other electoral staff from Punjab province not to be deployed in by-elections.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Secretary General Jahangir Tareen has written a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan regarding by-elections. According to sources, the letter stated that currently different seats of National and Provincial Assembly are vacant, where by-elections have to be held. PTI demanded in the letter for military deployment during by-elections, so that electoral process could be completed transparently, while the letter stated that earlier military was deployed in NA-122 and NA-154, which brought positive results.
According to sources, the letter demanded Election Commission to assign Election Commission staff deployment in by-elections instead of assigning Returning and District Returning officers from Federal and Provincial government.
