Islamabad (March 26, 2018): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has demanded the public apology by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over his statement on the chairman Senate election in which he mentioned Sanjarani elected chairman Senate through trading of votes.
The demand appeared during PTI’s delegation- comprising of party’s information secretary Fawad Chaudhary and Senator Faisal Javed- meeting with chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday in Islamabad.
Expressing the regret over the PM Abbasi statement terming Sanjrani as disrespected chairman Senate PTI delegation demanded the PMs’ instant apology.
“The PM Abbasi statement has caused the humiliation not only Senate but entire parliament as such kind of statement regarding first elected chairman Senate from Balochistan contradictory to his slot,” delegation said.
According to sources chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani intended to meet prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, however PM refused to meet him, however Senate secretariat denied news report and stated that chairman Senate did not seek time to meet PM Abbasi.
On March 24, in his strong diatribe over the election of Senate Chairman, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that election of chairman through trading of votes was the point of shame and suggested the chairman Senate should be elected unanimously so that country can be protected from disrespect in abroad.
