Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee has expressed fears that PTI Chairman Imran Khan may be a victim of ‘slow poisoning’ and has demanded immediate provision of home food and water to him. arrangements should be made,Khan was jailed earlier this month after being found guilty of corruption. He was then barred from politics for five years, barring him from contesting the next election.
The PTI core committee meeting strongly condemned the “inordinate delay” in allowing the former prime minister to bring food and water from home despite the possibility of him suffering from slow food poisoning.
The PTI leaders also strongly condemned the “unjustifiable delay” in hearing the PTI chairman’s bail plea.
He expressed deep concern over the unnecessary delay in the decision on the plea to keep him in Attock Jail and transfer him to Adiala Jail in total violation of the rules.
“After the darkest judgment of a highly controversial and biased judge, the favoritism and favoritism of the Chief Justice of IHC is contributing to the killing of justice,” the participants said.
The core committee of PTI expressed regret that with the help of such special judges, the graves of the constitution, fundamental rights, democracy and justice are being dug in the country.
Khan, 70, has been at the center of political turmoil since he was ousted as prime minister in a no-confidence vote last year, raising concerns about Pakistan’s stability as it grapples with an economic crisis.
He has been disqualified from politics for five years since he began serving a three-year prison sentence on Saturday for illegally selling government gifts he and his family received during the 2018-2022 term.
Khan was arrested from his Lahore home and is currently in Attock jail, where his legal team and the party say the former prime minister is being held. The living conditions there were very bad.
The Islamabad High Court is also hearing an application by Khan, in which he is seeking to be transferred from Adiala Jail to A Class Jail.
