PTI existence in NA ended after approval of election act

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) existence has been ended in the National Assembly (NA).

All the 80 members of PTI have been shown member of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).

Following on the elections act all the 23 special seats will be given to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) , Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (Fazal).

Yesterday Speaker NA Ayaz Sadiq has a written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan that the SC reserve seats verdict cannot be implemented under amended election act

Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja stated that the Supreme Court verdict on reserved seats cannot be implemented in light of Amended Election Act.

The Speaker National Assembly stated that the act passed by the Parliament has become a law after the approval of the President.

The letter highlighted that the Supreme Court verdict was issued under the previous act which is not applicable.

It said, those who have become part of a political party cannot be allowed to change the party.

The letter stated the independent members who have not submitted the party certificate will be considered independent.

The Speaker said, the Election Commission should ensure the adherence to the principles of Parliament and Democracy.
