WEB DESK: President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, has terminated the primary membership of Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chaudhary Muhammad Rafiq Nayyar.
The decision was formally announced through a notification issued by PTI Azad Kashmir’s General Secretary, Mir Atiq-ur-Rehman.move follows Nayyar’s announcement earlier in the day of his decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), citing consistent demands from his constituents in Khuiratta.
“PPP is our own party,” Nayyar said in an interview, noting that previous misunderstandings with the PPP had been resolved. Shortly after his announcement, Nayyar, along with Javed Butt, met PPP In-charge of Political Affairs, Faryal Talpur, at Bilawal House in Karachi, where both leaders formally joined the PPP.
Reacting to the defection, PTI Azad Kashmir spokesperson Chaudhry Maqbool Gujjar stated that Nayyar’s membership was revoked due to his “anti-party activities.” He added that a show-cause notice had previously been issued to Nayyar several months ago for the same reason.
“PTI Azad Kashmir, under the leadership of Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, is undergoing a strategic reorganization and will deliver a major surprise in the upcoming elections,” Gujjar asserted.
He further warned that all dissidents, including Nayyar, would serve as a “lesson” in the electoral contests ahead
