PTI Founder Imran, Bushra sentenced to 7-year imprisonment in ‘un-Islamic nikah” case

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder and Bushra Bibi has sentenced 7,7 years imprisonment in ‘illegal marriage ‘ case

The trial court has given seven-year sentences, each, to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the “un-Islamic nikah” case at the Adiala jail today.

The couple have also been fined Rs500,000 each. Both Khan and Bushra were present in the courtroom when the verdict was announced.

The verdict in the ‘un-Islamic’ marriage case was reserved by the court last night after a lengthy 14-hour hearing concluded on Friday night.

The hearing was conducted within the premises of Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, and was presided over by Islamabad’s Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah.

This is the third sentence for the PTI leader over the last five days. The former premier was earlier this week sentenced to 10-year imprisonment in the cypher case, and 14-year imprisonment in the Toshakhana case
