JHELUM: Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, were released from Jhelum Jail on Friday following the approval of their bail by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

Supporters of PTI and family members gathered outside the district jail to welcome the sisters back, with Aleema Khan’s son, Shehroz, present to greet them.

Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zulqarnain ordered their release after they had been in custody since October 4th in connection with a case filed at the Kohsar Police Station.

The bail for both sisters had previously been approved in two cases registered at the Kohsar Police Station related to the D-Chowk protest. The court granted bail on surety bonds of Rs 20,000 each.
