PTI granted conditional approval for Karachi rally

KARACHI: The Sindh government has issued a conditional no-objection certificate (NOC) to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for organizing a public rally in Karachi.

According to official sources, the rally is scheduled to take place on 11 January at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed that the Deputy Commissioner of Karachi East has formally granted permission for the event.

The notification released by the Sindh government states that PTI is permitted to conduct political activities in accordance with the Constitution and the law, provided all conditions outlined in the NOC are strictly followed.

The information minister highlighted that responsibility for maintaining law and order during the gathering will rest entirely with the event organizers. He further noted that any form of provocative speeches, hate material, sectarian remarks, or statements targeting state institutions will not be allowed.

Additionally, the organizers must ensure uninterrupted traffic flow in surrounding areas and are required to wrap up the event within the stipulated time.

Sharjeel Memon also clarified that the district administration reserves the right to withdraw permission at any point if security concerns arise.
