PTI leader Farrukh Habib and Faisal Chaudhry Advocate submitted the application in the Commission.

The PTI in its application took the plea that both the parties were also being funded from abroad. The application added that there were discrepancies in details of the accounts submitted by both the parties. It pleaded the ECP to scrutinize the details of party accounts of PPP and PML-N.It is to be mentioned here that ECP has been hearing a case filed by one of the PTI’s founding members Akbar S. Baber for allegedly receiving funds from prohibited sources ostensibly from foreign countries.

The fresh application of the PTI is seen a bid to counter the pressure the party is facing from ECP regarding the foreign funding case. The commission has already issued non-bailable warrant for arrest of PTI chairman for not appearing before the commission in a contempt of court case, which also emanated from the foreign funding case.
