Karachi (October 17, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has moved Sindh High Court (SHC) against Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani for his ‘derogatory’ remarks against vote.
On Tuesday, Insaf Lawyers Forum, lawyers’ wing of PTI, moved a petition against Durrani seeking the court to disqualify the Speaker for insulting votes and voters.

It is to be mentioned here that in a video clip which has gone viral on social media, Durani had exchanged heated arguments with people in his constituency and made remarks that many considered ‘insulting’ about votes.
“I don’t believe in importance of votes,” he was heard saying in the video.

The petitioner has stated in his petition that the remarks of the lawmaker was an insult of people and their right to franchise.
He pleaded the court to disqualify Durrani for the remarks. He added that till the disposal of instant matter, the court restrain Durrani as acting speaker of Sindh Assembly.
The petitioner also urged the court to direct Durrani to tender apology to the people.
