ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif on Monday said: “those set out to hold us acceptable are reluctant to present themselves for accountability.”
Referring to PTI chief Imran Khan, Asif said “It’s better you give answer on misappropriation of charity’s money, besides holding us to account.”
Talking to media outside Supreme Court, the minister said that the government was accountable to the masses and the court. He said that they had presented records of money transitions till 1980, but the PTI did not submit any evidence in Election Commission regarding the charity money came from abroad.
The minister added that they would avoid commenting on Panamagate case hearing in SC rather would comment on the hearing held across the road at EPC, which the PTI was issued another notice today.
Asif said that ECP provided six dates to PTI to provide details of party’s foreign funds and even contempt proceeding has been initiated against Imran but they did not provide the trail of the money sent from abroad.
