PTI Seeks LHC’s Approval to Organize Rally at Minar-e-Pakistan

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, requesting approval to hold a political rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5.

The petition was submitted by PTI Member of Provincial Assembly Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh. In his plea, he stated that a formal request for the rally had already been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lahore, but the issuance of the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been delayed.

The petitioner appealed to the court to direct the relevant authorities to issue the NOC promptly so that the party can proceed with its planned event. He emphasized that organizing public gatherings is a fundamental constitutional right, and any unnecessary delay in granting permission constitutes an infringement on political freedoms.

PTI is hopeful that the court will support their request as they prepare for what they describe as a “peaceful and democratic” rally at one of Lahore’s most historic landmarks.
