“PTI to adhere to founder’s guidance regarding constitutional amendments.”

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the party will adhere to Imran Khan’s directives regarding constitutional amendments, according to Abbtakk News.

After a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Barrister Gohar informed reporters that they had an in-depth discussion about the proposed constitutional changes.

He noted that the draft of the constitutional amendments was approved by the special parliamentary committee, despite opposition from PTI. “We were meeting with Maulana Sahib when we learned that the draft had been approved by the committee,” he added.

Barrister Gohar also mentioned that they plan to submit another request to meet with the PTI founder. “We will move forward based on Imran Khan’s guidance,” he stated.

Earlier, Syed Khursheed Shah, chairman of the special parliamentary committee tasked with discussing the proposed amendments, claimed that the draft was approved unanimously.

However, PTI member Amir Dogar contested Shah’s assertion, stating that the draft was not passed unanimously as he had opposed it.

The special parliamentary committee, chaired by Syed Khursheed Shah of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), included members from both the government and opposition.

The committee meeting featured participation from Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, PTI’s Amir Dogar, JUI-F’s Shahida Akhtar Ali, Irfan Siddiqui from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Syed Aminul Haq from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and PPP members Raja Pervez Ashraf and Sherry Rehman, along with Chaudhry Salik Hussain of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

Following the meeting, Syed Khursheed Shah asserted, “The draft has been approved unanimously.” He indicated that the draft will be presented to the federal cabinet for approval on Saturday.
