LAHORE: The Punjab government has officially declared a public holiday for all educational institutions on Friday, October 18. This closure applies to both public and private schools, colleges, and universities across the province.
In addition to the holiday, the government has imposed Section 144, which prohibits gatherings and protests throughout Punjab. The enforcement of Section 144 will be in effect from Friday, October 18, until Saturday, October 19. During this period, all forms of demonstrations, rallies, and related activities will be banned to maintain public order.
The decision aims to ensure the safety and security of students and the general public in light of recent events.
