Punjab CM calls for specialized training of doctors in intravascular procedures

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed the relevant authorities to acquire state-of-the-art equipment required for intravascular surgery and related cardiac procedures.

The directive was issued during a meeting with a delegation from the Board of Directors of Oklahoma Heart Hospital, led by Dr. Naeem Tahir Khaili, held in Lahore on Tuesday.

During the discussion, the chief minister emphasized the need to introduce modern cardiac treatment methods at major healthcare institutions, including the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology and Nawaz Sharif Medical City.

It was also agreed that experienced US-based cardiologists would conduct specialized training programs for Pakistani doctors to enhance their skills in advanced intravascular surgery techniques.

Additionally, the meeting approved a proposal to extend similar training opportunities to medical professionals from Children’s Hospital, Nishtar Hospital, and Jinnah Hospital, with the aim of improving cardiac care services across the province.
