Punjab govt announces Ad Hoc relief for employees

LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced an ad hoc relief allowance for civil servants from Grade 1 to 22.

A notification from the provincial finance department stated that salaries will be increased by 10 percent based on the current basic pay. Additionally, the department confirmed a 5 percent increase in pensions for retired government employees. The relief allowance is set to take effect from July 1, 2025.

Earlier this month, the federal government announced a 10 percent salary hike for its employees, including armed forces personnel and civil armed forces. As part of the 2025-26 budget, the government approved the salary increase along with a 10 percent boost in pensions.

The Ministry of Finance issued an official notification confirming that the salary adjustment also applies to contract-based employees. Furthermore, a separate notification was released for a 30 percent disparity allowance, aimed at employees who previously did not receive this benefit
