Lahore: Punjab government has approved construction of five thousand new classrooms under Public School Reorganization Program (PSRP) across the province.
Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said state of the arts modern labs will be established in the schools to enhance students’ learning capabilities.
She emphasized the importance of improving quality of government schools to rival top private institutions.

New modern labs will be established for improving students learning capacity while the meeting agreed on a suggestion to establish a revolving funds for the construction and repair of schools .
The meeting also considered launching mobile bus library project in the government schools for promotion of reading habit in the students.
Whereas the CM Maryam Nawaz ordered to ensure strictly following of wearing of uniform for students of the government schools.
She said that it is our determination to improve standard of education in Punjab government schools better than private schools.
A report regarding the meal program continued in three districts of South Punjab was also presented in the meeting.
The meeting also decided to form formal learning centers for out of schools children.
It was briefed to CM Punjab that as many as 3527 children were distributed 13.2 million packs of milk while Students were presented daily report on dash boards regarding packs of milk, the briefing stated.
The briefing told the CM that after start of the meal program in schools, calcium test of students are also conducted.
Under the PSRP phase one, as many 1,21000 new students have taken admission in the 5675 schools, the briefing apprised.
The special monitoring unit confirmed that 60 percent have taken new admissions, the briefing apprised
Moreover , after the PSRP, teachers attendance increased by 164 percent, the briefing stated.
In every divisional headquarters under the PSRP phase one, seven sessions of teachers training were completed.
Out of school children numbers are very high in suburban areas of the city,the briefing apprised.
The CM Punjab congratulated provincial minister Rana Skindar Hyat and his team over successful completion of the meal program and other projects.
