Lahore: Pakistan’s first ever Chief Minister’ Minority Card Program was formally launched in Lahore today.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Chief Minister of the Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the minorities are crown of our head.
The CM Punjab said ” I thought that I should take such a step under influence you feel that how much you are Pakistani like all the people of Punjab and we all.”
The CM said “The scene which is decorated in front of me which has roped us all with a strong ring which we call it Pakistan and our flag not completes without white colour. “
It is a matter of pride for me that I launched first ever minority card in the history of Punjab like I launched cards for other people
Maryam Nawaz apprised that under this program, 50000 deserving minority families will get financial assistance worth Rs 10500 after every three months.
She said that the number of deserving families will be increased to 75000 while the amount of financial assistance will also be enhanced in future.
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government received one lac applications for this program.
She said that the budget for the minorities affairs department has been raised by two folds.
