LAHORE: The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC) has announced a revised timetable for matriculation and intermediate examinations and results for 2026, adjusting the dates due to the expected arrival of the holy month of Ramazan.
Earlier, the annual examinations were planned to start on March 3, 2026. However, since Ramazan is anticipated to begin around February 18 and continue until March 18, the PBCC decided to shift the exams to after Eidul Fitr.
The updated and tentative schedule for SSC and HSSC first and second annual examinations was approved in a PBCC meeting held in Lahore. According to officials, the examinations will now commence from March 27, 2026. A formal notification was later issued, confirming that the revised plan was unanimously endorsed following recommendations from the Controller of Examinations, PBCC / BISE Lahore.
Under the new schedule, SSC first annual exams for classes 9 and 10 will begin on March 27, 2026. The Class 10 (Part-II) result is expected to be announced on August 6, 2026, while the Class 9 (Part-I) result is likely on September 2, 2026. The SSC second annual examinations are scheduled to start on October 6, 2026.
For intermediate students, the HSSC first annual exams for classes 11 and 12 will commence on May 20, 2026. The Class 12 (Part-II) result is tentatively set for September 23, 2026, followed by the Class 11 (Part-I) result on October 22, 2026. The HSSC second annual exams will begin on November 3, 2026, with results expected by January 12, 2027.
The PBCC clarified that this revised examination schedule will be implemented uniformly across all educational boards in Punjab.
