LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat firmly dismissed rumors and false reports on Friday about an extension of winter holidays for schools and colleges across the province.
In an official statement shared on social media, the minister reaffirmed that all educational institutions will reopen as planned on January 12, 2026, without any modifications to the previously announced schedule.
Addressing a fake notification that had been widely circulated online, the minister labeled it as baseless and clarified that the Punjab Education Department has not taken any such decision to extend the holidays.
He emphasized that schools and colleges will resume normal operations as scheduled and assured the public that no changes or delays will occur.
Furthermore, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat called upon parents, students, and educators to disregard false information and rely solely on verified updates from the Education Department for any official announcements.
