Qureshi Writes Letter To UN Secretary General Informing Worsening Situation of IHK

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has written a letter to Secretary-General of United Nations in which he informed the worsening situation in occupied Kashmir and situation of peace in the region.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised the Secretary-General that Indian forces were committing atrocities on ammunitionless Kashmiris under the black laws while it is the responsibility of the UN to take notice of the grim violations of human rights revealed in the report issued by the Human Rights Commissioner Office.

The Foreign Minister informed that India has increased firing and bombardment at the line of control if these conditions not prevented then peace of the region could be at stake while he said that the news of sending of 10000 troops to the Indian Held Kashmir is of serious concerns adding that movements of special plane at Sri Nagar Airport, arrival of additional forces in the IHK are adding these fears.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that no denial of the news circulating on the media by the Indian officials also confirms the information. While the instructions of Indian Railway to store ration for the period of one week also increasing fears in people of Kashmir.

He said that Pakistan opposes such geographic changes which made the holding of the plebiscite as per the UN resolutions in jeopardy. While such measures by the Indian government are a blatant violation of the UN’s security council resolutions regarding Indian held Kashmir.

Qureshi said that Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir not only a grim violation of human rights but it is making whole peace of South East Asia at stake and the UN should take notice of the entire situation immediately.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi demanded the UN stop India by committing state atrocities and human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. While he also demanded the UN form fact-finding committee who reviews the continued situation in Occupied territory.
