Karachi (February 08, 2018): A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) Rabita Committee on Wednesday night arrived at Farooq Sattar’s residence to remove differences over the issuance of senate tickets.

Dialogues between Farooq Sattar and the delegation are underway at Sattar’s residence. Sources said that if the delegation succeeded to bring round Sattar, then MQM chief along with his aides will arrive at MQM Bahadurabad office. Otherwise Sattar will handle all senate issues from PIB colony.

After the second round of discussions, Sattar tried to dismiss the impression of any division within the party, saying; “We are all brothers and we should have a positive attitude. I see no difference between Bahadurabad and PIB.”

However, the MQM-P’s coordination committee members who had arrived at the residence of Farooq Sattar in an effort to end a deadlock left the venue without sharing a word with media.Seemingly, MQM-P chief Dr Farooq Sattar on Tuesday night seemed to be in conciliatory mood to breach the differences, asking his loyalists not to chant slogans against the visiting Rabita Committee members, adding that the coordination committee is still functional and hopefully will soon come out the prevailing circumstances. Farooq Sattar also called off the  general body meeting of party workers at PIB Colony.

He further said; “Differences of opinion can’t be interpreted as division. There is freedom of speech in our party but not for public and media. We need a mechanism to effectively resolve the differences.”Sattar, however, reiterated that he needs actual power and mandate in a real sense to make the decision in favour of party’s better tomorrow , adding that all party workers also want their leader to enjoy utmost respect.

In an earlier session of discussion, three-member delegation of MQM-P Rabitta Committee has failed to woo its chief Farooq Sattar, as party chief had rejected the recommendations put forward by negotiating team, comprising Rabitta Committee members Syed Sardar, Rauf Siddiqui and Javed Hanif. On Monday, both Farooq Sattar and Amir Khan disagreed with each other on the party candidates, in a meeting held at Bahadurabad office on Monday.

The session, which was attended by senior leadership of MQM-P, including Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Waseem Akhtar, Nasreen Jalil, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and others, ended in a chaos.
