Peshawar: At least 314 people have died and 156 others were injured in rain and flash flood-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a situation report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Sunday.
The report said the fatalities included 264 men, 29 women, and 21 children. Among the injured were 124 men, 23 women, and 10 children.
Heavy rains also damaged 159 houses in the province, with 97 partially damaged and 62 completely destroyed, the PDMA added.
Buner district was reported as the worst-hit, where 209 people lost their lives. Other affected districts included Swat, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, and Battagram.
The PDMA said it had directed all relevant departments to accelerate relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
