Rain lashes several parts of country, snowfall blankets mountain region

Web Desk: Rain lashed in several parts of the country while snowfall blanketed mountain regions whereas tourists stuck owing to intense snowfall and rain in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Astore.

Intermittent rain poured in Okara, Hafizabad, Manchanabad, Jahanian, Chechawatni, Vehari.

Besides that rain also lashed in Gujrat, Sargodha, DG Khan, Kot Addu, Shakar Gadh, Hafizabad, Kamalia

Fresh showers have brought winter season as as weather turned cold.

Communication sytem totally collapsed due to severe snowfall in Galyat, Nelum valey, Lepa valey.
Snowfall interrupted flow of traffic owing to which tourists faced difficulties.

Rain continued in Astore for consecutive three days while ground to upper areas linked disconnected while electricity and supply of water were also suspended due to three days of rain.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued rain alert while it has also directed to activate emergency operations centers.

On the other hand, mainly dry and partly cloudy weather is likely in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.

However, rain with wind, thunderstorm and snowfall over hills is expected at isolated places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during day time.

Light to moderate fog may develop in few plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and central and south Punjab.

Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad twelve degree centigrade, Lahore sixteen, Karachi twenty-three, Peshawar thirteen, Quetta and Gilgit five, Murree four and Muzaffarabad eight degree centigrade. 

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind and thunderstorm and snow is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramula while, cloudy weather with chances of rain and wind with thunderstorm in Jammu.

Temperature recorded this morning:     

Srinagar, Anantnag and Shopian three degree centigrade, Jammu fourteen, Leh minus-six and  Pulwama and Baramula two degree centigrade.
