Karachi: Thick black clouds blanketed sky of Karachi in various areas of Karachi on Thursday afternoon.
Whereas rain started in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Orangi Town and its adjoining areas.
Besides that Surjani Town, New Karachi and North Karachi also reported heavy rains as third spell of rains in the last three days.
Torrential rains also battered in Manghopir and Northern by-pass, Gulshan-e-Iqbal,
According to the meteorological department prediction rain will lash Karachi today which will likely to commence after 12 pm in afternoon.
It is also likely that the the rains will continue till night with intervals.
The met department apprised that the monsoon system will remain effective till August 23 including Karachi and across Sindh.
The torrential rains will be again expected after August 27 all across Sindh including Karachi while this system of downpours will likely to continue till August 30, the met department said.
They added that after nearing the system final prediction can be given.
Yesterday, somewhere light rains, heavy downpours battered in Karachi while rain water accumulated on Drig road, Stadium road, Mosamiyat, Universtiy road, Shahra-e-Faisal, FTC including other places.
Owing to the torrential rains the underpasses in the Karachi are closed except the Clifton underpass while Korangi river , EBM causeway in Korangi also are closed.
