Rain, thunderstorm with snowfall expected in upper parts on Nov 4

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a spell of rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over mountainous regions, in the upper parts of the country starting November 4.

According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is expected to reach the northern areas on the night of November 3 and persist until November 5, causing a notable drop in temperatures across northern and central Pakistan.

The PMD has also issued a warning of isolated hailstorms during this period.

The department noted that daytime temperatures are likely to decrease considerably during the wet spell, followed by an additional drop in nighttime temperatures.

Foggy and smoggy conditions currently affecting parts of Punjab are expected to temporarily clear during the rainy period but may return afterwards.

Farmers have been advised to organize their fieldwork based on the weather forecast, while travelers and tourists, especially those heading to hilly areas, are urged to plan their trips carefully due to the risks of rain, snowfall, and slippery conditions.

Additionally, the PMD has cautioned that windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning could potentially damage loose structures in open areas.
