KARACHK: In a significant crackdown, Pakistan Rangers apprehended seven linked to the notorious “Topi Gang” during an operation in the Korangi area of Karachi.
According to officials, the suspects were allegedly involved in a range of criminal activities, including street robberies, motorcycle theft, and other offenses. During the raid, authorities recovered weapons, cash, and several mobile phones from their possession.
A Rangers spokesperson revealed that the gang is believed to be connected to more than 900 criminal cases reported across Sindh since 2018. Their activities were not limited to Karachi, as they also operated in cities such as Sukkur, Kandhkot, and Rohri.
Investigators further disclosed that the group was involved in pickpocketing passengers on public transport. The alleged ringleader, Muhammad Zafar, was identified with the help of CCTV footage.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that multiple cases have already been registered against the suspects at various police stations. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest other members of the gang still at large.
