Rangers seize large cache of illegal weapons in Safoora operation

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers carried out a targeted operation in the Safoora Chowrangi area, recovering a significant quantity of illegal arms and ammunition, a spokesperson confirmed on Sunday.

According to the Rangers, the raid was conducted in the Decent Garden locality, where a suspect identified as Zohaib, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Jutt, was arrested.

Officials said the recovered weapons included five M-4 rifles along with firearms of 30 bore, 12 bore, and 222 bore calibres. The cache also included an airgun, mobile phones, cash, and a gold chain.

During the search, law enforcement personnel also seized 70 rounds of ammunition, 132 magazines, and various components of defective weapons. In addition, 13 fake arms licenses, stamping equipment linked to a private security company, nine forged authority letters, and three arms licenses issued in Balochistan were recovered.

Rangers officials stated that the weapons and related material were suspected to be intended for use in criminal or terrorist activities.

The arrested suspect has been handed over to police for further legal proceedings and investigation.
