Rashid Khan’s 6 wickets in an ODI match, equals Wasim Akram’s remarkable record.

WEB DESK: Afghanistan’s cricketer Rashid Khan delivered a remarkable performance in the game against Bangladesh, securing yet another significant achievement. In the second ODI, he claimed five wickets, matching the record held by former Pakistan legends Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq.

This marked the sixth time in Rashid Khan’s career that he has taken five or more wickets in an ODI match, equaling the feat accomplished by Wasim Akram, famously known as the “Sultan of Swing,” and off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who achieved this milestone for Pakistan.

Beyond Rashid Khan, players like India’s Mohammed Shami, New Zealand’s Trent Boult, and South Africa’s Lance Klusener have also reached the six five-wicket haul mark in ODIs during their careers.

The top record for the most five-wicket hauls in ODI cricket is held by Waqar Younis, who achieved it an incredible 13 times. Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan follows with 10, while Mitchell Starc, Brett Lee, and Shahid Afridi each secured nine such performances.
