RAW Wants to Destabilize Balochistan: Gen Mahmood

Karachi (July 15, 2017): Chief of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCAC) General Zubair Mehmood on Saturday said that RAW wanted to destabilize Balochistan.

Addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi on Saturday, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat said that Pakistan was fully aware of the designs of hostile agencies, especially RAW against the country.

He said that Pakistan believed in peaceful coexistence but RAW wanted to destabilize Balochistan.

H said the Indian intelligence was operating from Afghanistan to stoke unrest and instability in the country and sabotage the multi billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

He called for foiling the nefarious designs of anti-Pakistan agencies especially RAW.  Gen Mehmood said that the armed forces were the symbol of Pakistan unity and strength.

He said that Pakistan was concerned over the massacre of innocent Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir.

The SJCSC termed peace in Afghanistan was a must for security of the whole region.

He added that the ongoing operation Rad-ul-Fasaad was meant to eliminate terrorists of all hue and colours and their facilitators.

He categorically stated that the country was capable to beat back the enemies’ designs.

General Zubair said that Pakistan was vital to regional solutions. Attempts to coerce and isolate it have failed in the past and will also meet the same fate in future, he added.

About anti-terror operations, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee said Pakistan was determined to wipe out the curse of terrorism.

Referring to the role of Pakistan Navy, General Zubair said the nation was proud of its sea defenders, who have played pivotal role in the defense of the country, anti-terror and anti-piracy operations.

He pointed out that modern navy is important to address the challenges of maritime security, which has assumed added significance due to the CPEC.

He said the government is cognizant of the requirements of Pakistan Navy and providing it the resources to meet its current and future needs.
