RAWALPINDI: Authorities in Rawalpindi have postponed all matriculation examinations scheduled for April 10 (Friday), citing administrative directives.
The decision was made under the guidance of Commissioner and Board Chairman Aamir Khattak, leading to the suspension of exams at all 64 centres across the city.
Officials confirmed that the affected papers include Compulsory Urdu and Pakistan Geography. However, examinations in other districts of the Rawalpindi Division will proceed according to the previously announced timetable.
An official statement noted that revised dates for the postponed exams will be announced later. The move follows a notification issued in Islamabad declaring a two-day local holiday due to upcoming high-level talks between the United States and Iran.
According to the district administration, Thursday and Friday have been designated as public holidays within the Islamabad Capital Territory, affecting routine government and educational operations.
Despite the closures, essential services such as hospitals will remain fully operational. Residents have been advised to plan accordingly in light of the temporary changes.
Officials say the decision reflects coordination between educational boards and local administration to ensure smooth arrangements during significant diplomatic activities while minimizing disruption to the academic schedule.
