KARACHI: A residential building that collapsed in the Baghadadi area of Lyari, Karachi, has resulted in multiple casualties, including a newlywed couple.
According to residents, the couple trapped under the rubble consists of a young man named Nirool and his wife, Manisha. The couple had only been married for five months before tragically being caught in this devastating incident. Their untimely deaths have left the local community mourning.
It is also reported that, in a similar incident yesterday, another married couple was trapped under the debris. The groom, Chiten, was found buried under the rubble, while his wife was taken to the hospital with injuries.Rescue authorities have stated that, so far, 16 bodies have been recovered from the debris, and 12 injured individuals, including women, have been transported to nearby hospitals. However, there is still no confirmed information about the whereabouts of Nirool, Manisha, and several other missing persons. Rescue teams are actively working to locate and extract survivors.
According to the latest updates, the rescue operation may take several more hours. Efforts are ongoing to recover more individuals from the wreckage, and the injured are being provided medical treatment at local hospitals
