ISLAMABAD: Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan as a Chairman of Pakistan Bar Council has suspended the resolution and show-cause notice served to Federal Minister Farogh Naseem Khan for cancellation of his membership as a Chairman of Pakistan Bar Council.
Sources said that the suspension of the resolution and the show-cause notice came after Federal Minister for Law, Justice and human rights, Faroogh Naseem petition in this regard.
The show-cause notice served to the Minister asked the Minister why did not he remove his name from the role of Pakistan Bar Council after assuming the charge as the Minister?.
The formal hearing on the Federal Minister petition will be held on July 3.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PBC on June 12 has canceled his membership as a member of the PBC while vice-chairman of the PBC has served the Minister show-cause notice on June 15.
It is also worth mentioning that Karachi Bar Association (KBA) had suspended the membership of the Minister and Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan over filing the reference against Supreme Court judges Justice Qazi Fayiz Essa and Justice KK Agha in the Supreme Judicial Council.
The KBA, besides canceling the membership of the Minister and the Attorney General, has demanded the resignations of the duo and as per the declaration of the body, their membership will be remain canceled until they tendered resignations from their respective posts.
